Inside the Work
What a Masters Renovation Looks Like
Most of our renovations begin not on demo day but six to ten weeks earlier, inside our design studio. We document the existing structure, model proposed changes in 3D, pull in your architect of record when needed, and lock cabinetry, stone, tile, plumbing, and lighting on a single specification sheet before a permit is filed. The schedule you receive at contract is the schedule we hold to.
On site, a single Masters project lead runs the job. Selective demo is taken back to the framing so we can correct the things older Portland and Vancouver homes routinely hide — undersized headers, brittle galvanized supply, knob-and-tube remnants, failed shower pans, settled subfloors. New rough-ins are inspected, the envelope is reinsulated where opened, and waterproofing is detailed by hand at every wet zone. Custom cabinets are built to the millimeter; stone slabs are templated digitally and book-matched on site.
Typical scopes range from a single spa-grade primary bath, to a full chef's kitchen with butler's pantry, to a whole-home renovation that touches every system in the house. Clients across Lake Oswego, West Linn, Portland Heights, Camas, and Vancouver tend to combine an interior renovation with a footprint addition or covered outdoor room so the entire estate moves forward together.
Frequently Asked
Renovation Questions, Answered
The questions Portland and Vancouver homeowners ask most often before we begin.
A full Masters renovation usually covers selective demolition, structural reinforcement where walls move, new mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins, insulation and waterproofing, custom millwork and cabinetry, hand-set stone or large-format tile, plaster or specialty paint finishes, lighting design with controls, and final styling. Permitting, inspections, and protection of the rest of the home are managed by our project lead.
